The Ogun State House of Assembly has paid tributes to the late mother of a popular musician of the Fuji genre, Wasiu Ayinde Marshall popularly known as K1, Alhaja Halimat Saddiyah Anifowose.
Calling for the tributes in honour of late Mrs Anifowose after a plenary session, the House Minority Leader, Lukman Adeleye, explained that he raised the matter on the floor of the House as a mark of honor and to ensure the departed matriarch’s legacy is remembered.
Adeleye described the deceased as a devoted mother and pillar of strength for her family, who lived an exemplary life of accomplishment and grace.
He noted that her son, Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, has made Nigeria proud by taking the Fuji music across the world, saying “it is only fitting to acknowledge the role his mother played in his success.”
The Assembly session, however, concluded with a minute’s silence in honor of Alhaja Anifowose, as lawmakers emphasized the enduring legacies of the departed figure.
